“To be or not to be?” is a question that has been asked in many words since the beginning of time… Indeed, what is it going to take to my own self be true?
Take an addiction, for example… Your higher self (I know mine does!) only encourages you to recognize your wholeness… Ultimately, it IS your wholeness! However, when it comes to ego, it is an entirely different story. Mine has no qualms about convincing me I “need” something else, that I am not complete, not whole, that if only I had the money, the chocolate, the relationship, the recognition then, and only then, I would be happy, fulfilled, perfect and connected!
On the way to the spiritual forum of having-it-all-being-it-all, one of the best excuses I have heard is Mercury being retrograde: amazing what this God-guy (Mercury) can endorse in allowing people to not be responsible for their actions or lack thereof! Somehow computers fail, communications are undelivered, mishaps happen, stuff that was meant to go round squares off, all of this in the name of the most mischievious trickster of all, Mercury, slash Hermes, slash volatile unreliable monkey mind quicksilver you!
I read once a passage in “Autobiography of a Yogi” that marked me for life: “Superstitious awe of astrology makes on an automaton, slavishly dependent on mechanical guidance. The wise man defeats his planets–which is to say, his past–by transferring his allegiance from the creation to the creator. The more he realizes his unity with Spirit, the less he can be dominated by matter. The soul is ever free; it6 is deathless because birthless. It cannot be regimented by stars.” P189.
What if that statement was as true or truer that the myth of Mercury being retrograde? I understand that I may have lost a great deal of my “spiritual” fans here: however what is truth? In looking at astrology, one would have to go back to QKabbalah, at least in the West… Mercury is the planet that matches the letter Beth, the letter that starts the separation of inside and outside: it is the letter of Duality, the letter of Maya, the letter of illusion! Naturally, it would be accompanied by the greatest Jester of all: the mercurial mind of the Magician…. “Watch the red, watch the red!” he mesmerizes you into doing…
Watch how you are going to be late, or miscommunicating or breaking down… “Watch the red, watch the red!” Where do you choose your focus to be? “Watch the red, watch the red!” To whom are you giving your power? “Watch the red, watch the red!” Do you really prefer to be miscommunicating? “Watch the red, watch the red!” Are delays somehow assisting you to not show up? “Watch the red, watch the red!” Just how bad do you want your success? “Watch the red, watch the red!”
Monkey Mercury is mischievious enough it convinced you of your helplessness. Funny me, indeed! “You can’t hurry love! No you just have to wait… for M. to be direct again! Yet is it really Mercury that did this magic on you, or simply the ego mind? “Watch the red, watch the red!”
What if? What if Mercury was such a skillful joker that it managed to have you believe in its trickery? what if that was the biggest trick of all, to pretend to be that much of a thief he actually succeeded in robbing you from your most precious possession: your ability to concentrate, and thus your pleasure?
Just how long do you have to wait to drop your [Mercury] mind and the many excuses it keeps on inventing? Just how much pain do you require to dare choose pleasure? Just how much time do you need to follow your heART and simply espouse the deliciousness of the NOW?
I know, I know: tough life being a mystic!
LOVE
